Zinostatin (also: Neocarzinostatin ) is a drug from the group of enediyne - antibiotics with an antineoplastic effect. Responsible for the antitumor effect is a chromophoric part that is non- covalently bound to an apoprotein consisting of 113 amino acids . The chromophore is chemically unstable without binding to the peptide. The peptide consists of a single chain. Zinostatin is obtained from cultures of Streptomyces carcinostaticus var. F-41 . The neocarzinostatin chromophore causes strand breaks in the DNA , preferably in the deoxyribose of thymine .

The conjugate of zinostatin with styrene-maleic acid copolymer was used in Japan for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma until 2009 .
