The network for victims of sexual violence (netzwerkB) is an interest group for victims of sexual violence , especially sexual abuse and rape . The association was founded on April 10, 2010 and is based in Scharbeutz . The speaker is Norbert Denef .

Positions

The association criticized the non-participation of victims in the round table on child sexual abuse . He believes that from the victims' point of view, there was a lot of talk about sexual violence in 2010, but almost nothing was done.

On the occasion of the beatification of John Paul II on May 1, 2011, the spokesman Denef, who himself had been in correspondence with the Pope, pointed out the victims of sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church. “Not only for me personally, but worldwide for many victims who were abused as girls and boys during the term of office of Pope John Paul II, this beatification is the salt in their deep, still fresh wounds. During his pontificate, too, crimes were covered up and concealed not only in Germany but in many other countries, including the USA and Mexico. Instead of beatifying a dead Pope, the Church should help the victims. "

On May 25, 2011, Liza Stein, state representative of netzwerkB for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and herself a victim of abuse in her family, criticized Christine Bergmann , abuse representative of the federal government, in Schwerin for not being represented at the victim protection conference.

netzwerkB held a demonstration on Pariser Platz in Berlin during the Pope's speech in the German Bundestag on September 22, 2011 . Among other things, protests were made against the fact that the victims are still being forced to remain silent because they have no action against the perpetrators. The opening of the Vatican archives was also requested.

On December 6, 2011, Norbert Denef was invited to the SPD's federal party conference as a guest speaker and spoke about the situation and suffering of the victims. The party congress decided unanimously to campaign for a lifting of the statute of limitations in the Bundestag.

From June 8 to July 24, 2012, Norbert Denef was on hunger strike : “I am on a hunger strike because the SPD parliamentary group is not prepared to advocate lifting the statute of limitations for sexualised violence in the German Bundestag, although the delegates do at the federal party congress of the SPD on December 6, 2011 clearly in favor of it. ”Other victims joined the hunger strike. On July 13, 2012, Denef went to the grounds in front of the Reichstag to talk to SPD politicians. The police obstructed an interview with the Reuters agency . Around the same time, the petition from netzwerkB at Avaaz received over 60,000 signatures. Denef ended his hunger strike after 46 days. The SPD's draft law of October 9, 2010 was dealt with in the Bundestag on September 26, 2012 in response to a special request for rules of procedure.

On July 19, 2012, a majority in the German Bundestag approved a joint motion for a resolution by the CDU / CSU , SPD and FDP , which called on the federal government to submit a draft law in autumn 2012 which ensures that a medically professional circumcision of infants and underage boys is fundamental is permissible. The association criticized this decision and calls for protection of children from injury and violence. On December 12, the Bundestag passed a law on circumcision with 434 to 100 votes and 46 abstentions. It has been in force since December 28, 2012 as Section 1631d BGB.

On January 8, 2013, the association announced that the German Bishops' Conference had terminated the contract on the criminological study on abuse in the Catholic Church in Germany because of differences over the publication with Christian Pfeiffer .

In March 2013, the association was critical of the law to strengthen the rights of victims of sexual abuse of the German Bundestag: “The increase in the limitation period for claims for damages to 30 years represents equal treatment with those affected by other forms of violence and damage to health Sense positive too. However, long-term health effects only occur after this period has expired. That is why all those involved in politics know that this 30-year period is not enough. "

Thomas Galli, former director of the Zeithain correctional facility , Saxony, has been a board member of netzwerkB since January 2017 . Galli demands the release of the prisoners in the correctional facilities.
