Neuhofen Old Rhine (northern extension)

The Neuhofener Altrhein nature reserve (northern extension) is located in the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 11 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends east of the local community of Neuhofen . The Rhine flows north .
The protection purpose is the preservation of a section of the Old Rhine with its bank areas and open water areas as well as the succession areas as a habitat for numerous wild plant species and wild animal species, in particular bird species bound by wetlands .
