Nicholas "Nick" Naumenko (* 7. July 1974 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a retired American ice hockey player , who most recently for the SCL Tigers in the Swiss National League A has played.
Player career
The 1.80 m tall defender began his career in the US Junior League USHL and later in the team of the University of North Dakota in the game operations of the NCAA . In the 1992 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected ( drafted ) as 182nd in the eighth round of the St. Louis Blues .
However, the right-shooter was never on the ice for the Blues in the National Hockey League , but was only used in lower-class farm teams. After several years in the AHL and the International Hockey League Naumenko joined the 2002/03 season to DEL - champions Adler Mannheim . After a year he switched to their league rivals Kassel Huskies , which he left for North America after 23 games of the season. In the following years he played for various clubs in the AHL, but never made it to play in the NHL.
During the 2006/07 season , the American moved to Switzerland for HC Ambrì-Piotta . The playing time he finished the EHC Biel, with whom he the play-offs of the National League B denied. For the following season , however, Naumenko returned to the HCAP. In the following two seasons he missed the playoffs with the HCAP and had to compete in the playouts instead. In these, however, the team was always able to keep up.
Shortly before the start of the 2009/10 season, Naumenko received an initial two-month contract with the SCL Tigers .
