Nico Adamczak (born March 13, 1990 in Berlin ) is a German basketball player . After early successes with Berlin teams, with whom he won two German championships in the youth and junior division, Adamczak played from 2009 for various teams in the second and third highest division ProA and ProB as well as for the BG Göttingen, for which he played individual games in the completed the highest division basketball Bundesliga .

Career

In his youth Adamczak also played with the Marzahner Basket Bears, with whom he won the German U16 championship together with Niels Giffey, among others . Adamczak then moved with Giffey to Alba Berlin, where he played in the junior team in the newly created youth basketball league (NBBL) under coach Henrik Rödl and gained his first experience in the senior division at the lower class VfB Hermsdorf. In the 2008/09 season, in which Adamczak played in the senior division for Alba's second team in the Regionalliga , the two youth selection players Adamczak and Giffey were the only two Alba players who were invited to the NBBL's All-Star Game . At the end of the season, the Alba Juniors, which also included Konstantin Klein , Steven Monse and Joshiko Saibou, were able to become NBBL champions in the U19 age group for the first time in front of their home crowd.

In contrast to his teammates, Adamczak left Alba after this success in 2009 and looked for his first professional engagement in the second highest division ProA at the ETB Wohnbau Baskets from Essen . These separated from Adamczak at the beginning of October 2009, but six weeks later he found a new club at BC Weissenhorn one division lower in the ProB . According to his own statements, unsatisfied with the perspective and the training opportunities, Adamczak switched to the BG 74 from Göttingen six weeks later in early 2010 . In the first division, who won the EuroChallenge 2009/10 that season , Adamczak was used in the regional league team. After Adamczak with a double license in the basketball Bundesliga 2010/11 had a use in the top division, he was used in the following season 2011/12 in six first division games. The financially troubled Göttingen, however, rose from the bottom of the table in the basketball league that season.

For the 2012/13 season Adamczak switched to the financially tight Baskets from Düsseldorf under coach Murat Didin in the ProA. In terms of sport, the Düsseldorf team won the runner-up and promotion to the top division in the ProA 2012/13 . With the licensing, however, problems arose again and so they were not only denied the license for the top division, but ultimately also revoked the license for the ProA after violating the license regulations. Adamczak then switched to the MLP academics from Heidelberg for ProA 2013/14 , who wanted to play for promotion themselves. The team disappointed, however, and missed the play-offs for promotion and the championship of the second division. After a coach change, Adamczak was finally the only remaining player from the preseason and was appointed team captain for the ProA 2014/15 . However, Adamczak was unable to provide sporting impulses as hoped in 2014/2015 and did not receive a new contract in Heidelberg after the end of the season. From the 2015/2016 season Adamczak played for SSV Lokomotive Bernau in the 1st Regionalliga Nord and won the championship title with the club in his first year, thus making his promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

For the 2017/18 season Adamczak withdrew to the second regional league and joined the Baskets Wolmirstedt. With the team he celebrated the championship title in spring 2018 and with it promotion to the first regional league. Adamczak contributed an average of 22.6 points per game on the way to the unbeaten championship and was the best Wolmirstedter basket shooter of the season. In the summer break of 2018 he moved to the 1st regional league at WSG 1981 Königs Wusterhausen.
