Nicolás Martín Domínguez (born June 28, 1998 in Haedo , Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player who is under contract with the Italian first division club FC Bologna . The midfielder has been a national team player in his home country since September 2019 .

Club career

Domínguez came at the age of seven in the youth of CA Vélez Sarsfield and went through all the junior teams of the capital city club . At the beginning of 2017 he was promoted to the first team of coach Omar de Felippe and made his debut in the first division of Argentina on March 10 (15th matchday) in a 3-2 home win against the Estudiantes de La Plata . In the 3-0 away win against CA Tigre on June 3, 2017, he scored his first goal in professional football. In this 2016/17 season he was used in 12 games and scored one goal. In the following season 2017/18 he managed to penetrate the starting lineup and made 24 league games in which he provided two assists. He retained this place in the next season 2018/19 and on October 6, 2018 he scored his second goal of his career in the 1: 3 defeat at CA San Martín de San Juan . He was used in all 25 league games from the start this season and scored three goals and assisted in another.

On August 30, 2019, the Italian first division club Bologna FC signed Nicolás Domínguez for a transfer fee of 7.35 million euros, which can be increased to 10 million euros through bonus payments. However, he did not stay with the Rossoblu , but was immediately loaned back to Vélez Sarsfield for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. After scoring five goals this season in 13 league games for Vélez, he was ordered back to Bologna early on January 9, 2020. He made his Serie A debut three days later in the 0-1 away defeat against FC Turin when he came on for Andrea Poli in the closing stages .

National team

On September 6, 2019, he made his debut in a 0-0 draw in the friendly against Chile for the Argentine national team when he came on for Rodrigo de Paul in the 67th minute .
