Andrea Poli (born September 29, 1989 in Vittorio Veneto ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with FC Bologna .

Club career

Andrea Poli began his professional career at FBC Treviso and was part of the team that played in Serie A for the first time in the 2005/06 season . However, he was not used. Poli made his debut for Treviso in the 2006/07 season - but by then his club had already been relegated to Serie B. After he came on four substitutions this season, he was committed to the 2007/08 season by Sampdoria Genoa . In the Genoese he was initially used mainly in the youth team and was part of the team that won both the Italian Youth Championship and the Italian Youth Cup in 2007/08 . On November 4, 2007, however, he played his first game in Serie A against Cagliari Calcio . But it should stay with this use for the time being, because for the 2008/09 season he was loaned to the second division side Sassuolo Calcio , where he was regularly used .

After only one season in Sassuolo , Poli returned to Genoa and was regularly used in the team that surprisingly ended the 2009/10 season in fourth place in the Serie A table. After Sampdoria Genoa was relegated in the 2010/11 season, Poli was loaned to Inter Milan on August 29, 2011 . The Milanese were also given the option of permanent engagement. This was not drawn, however, because the clubs could not agree on the transfer fee, although Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni actually wanted to sign the young midfielder.

After his return to Sampdoria, he was again a regular in midfield of the Genoese and also made the jump into the Italian national team. On November 18, 2012, he also scored his first goal in Serie A in a derby against CFC Genoa .

For the 2013/14 season , Poli moved to AC Milan . However, Sampdoria retained 50% of the transfer rights and in return received 50% of the rights to Bartosz Salamon , who went to Genoa.

In the summer of 2017, Poli moved to Bologna FC .

National team

Andrea Poli went through all of Italy's national youth teams from U-17 to U-21 . In total he played in 34 youth internationals and scored three goals. He made his debut in the Italian senior team on August 15, 2012 in a friendly against England . In 2013, Poli played in three friendly matches , with his first international goal in the game against San Marino . In September 2014, Poli came on as a substitute for the European Championship qualification against Norway, and in May 2015 he took part in a training course for the national team in preparation for the international matches against Croatia and Portugal . However, Poli was not nominated for the Games.

Trivia
