Roberto Soriano (born February 8, 1991 in Darmstadt ) is a German - Italian soccer player who is currently under contract with FC Bologna as a loan player from Villarreal .
Career

Soriano was born as the son of Italian immigrants in Darmstadt, Hesse, and grew up in his native city. Like his older brother Elia , who has played for the Würzburger Kickers since 2016 , he played for the youth teams of SV Darmstadt 98 . In a game of Hesse selection he fell to the scouts of FC Bayern Munich , which offered him a place in summer 2005 in the Youth Academy, took the Soriano. For Bayern , he played his first game in the U-19 Bundesliga on October 28, 2007 against Offenburger FV as a youth . In the summer of 2010 he signed a professional contract in Genoa and was then awarded for one season to the second division club FC Empoli . For the 2016/17 season , Soriano moves to the Spanish first division club Villarreal .

National team
Soriano played for various junior national teams in Italy. In the U-17 national team he was used a total of six times, for the first time on November 29, 2007. Including three games in the elite round of qualifying for the U-17 European Championship in 2008 .
On March 11, 2009, he made his debut against Norway in the U-19 national team . At the end of April / beginning of May 2009 he was called up for five games in the U-18 national team, the first time on April 27, 2009 against Denmark .
On September 4, 2009, he had his first appearance in the U-21 national team . After he had already played a few games for the U-21 selection, he was nominated in 2010 first for the qualification and then for the finals of the U-19 European Championship 2010 in France , where he was used in all games. From September 2010 he played again for the U-21 national team.
On November 16, 2014, he made his debut in the senior national team , which played a 1-1 draw in Milan in the qualifying match for the 2016 European Championships against Croatia's selection . He came on for Manuel Pasqual in the 28th minute. As a result, Soriano was regularly used in the Squadra Azzurra . He played his eighth and so far last international match against Romania on November 17, 2015 .
