Mattias Olof Svanberg (born January 5, 1999 in Malmö ) is a Swedish football player who has been under contract with the Italian first division club FC Bologna since the 2018/19 season .
Career
society
Svanberg joined the youth team at Malmö FF in 2013 and signed his first professional contract there on July 27, 2015. He made his league debut on May 28, 2016 in a 4-1 away win against Östersunds FK . On September 25, he scored his first goal in the 2-0 home win in the local derby against Helsingborgs IF . In the following season, 2017 , he advanced into the rotation and completed 18 missions in which he scored once and assisted five goals. He became a regular player in midfield in the next season of 2018 , in which he played all 21 competitive games in Malmö until his move and was able to collect three goals and four assists. During his time in Sweden, he won the championship title twice in a row with Malmö.
On July 5, 2018, Svanberg's move to the Italian first division club FC Bologna was announced, where he signed a five-year contract. The transfer fee that was paid for the midfielder was 5 million euros. He made his debut on September 16 in the 2-0 away defeat against CFC Genoa when he came on for Andrea Poli in the second half . In the 2018/19 season he played 23 league games in the Rossoblu jersey .
National team
Mattias Svanberg made 20 appearances for the Swedish U-17 national team between 2014 and 2016, in which he scored two goals. From 2016 he was in action for the U19s , played seven games and scored once.
He made his debut for the U21s on October 10 in a 3-0 home win against Malta .
