Nikki Hamblin (born May 20, 1988 ) is a New Zealand middle-distance runner .

At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 , she was eliminated over 800 m in the preliminary run and reached the semifinals over 1500 m .

In 2010 she was seventh over 800 m and fifth over 1500 m at the Athletics Continental Cup in Split . At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi , she won silver over both distances. In 2011 she failed at the World Championships in Daegu over 800 m and 1500 m each in the preliminary run.

At the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 , she was seventh in the 800 m and fifth in the 1500 m. In 2015 she did not get past the first round at the World Championships in Beijing over 1500 m.

Hamblin took part in the Olympic Games in Rio . In the run-up to the women's 5000 m final, she fell and could therefore no longer run a promising time. However, since she took care of fellow runner Abbey D'Agostino , who carried her away in her fall , instead of continuing the run , the International Athletics Federation gave both of them a wildcard for the final. You would have embodied true Olympic spirit.
