Mattsson has participated in FIS competitions and the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour since 2009 . He drove his first FIS World Cup race in October 2009 in London , which he finished in 23rd place in Big Air. In the further course of the season he took third place in Slopestyle at the Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno and first place at the Chillinvitational in Gesunda and the Piststilen in Ramundberget . In January 2011 he won silver in slopestyle at the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina . The following month he took third place in slopestyle at the Nescafé Champs in Leysin and second place at the Chillinvitational in Gesunda. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season he won his first FIS World Cup in the Big Air competition in Stockholm . This was followed by a third place at the Air & Style in Innsbruck . At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo he came in 13th place in Slopestyle. He finished the season in third place in the FIS Big Air World Cup. In the following year he won the silver medal in Big Air at the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham . In January 2014 he finished second in the Slopestyle at the Snowboard Jamboree and FIS World Cup races in Stoneham . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he achieved 23rd place in slopestyle. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he came 11th in Slopestyle and sixth in Big Air competition. In the 2015/16 season he finished eighth at Air & Style in Beijing and 19th in Innsbruck. In February 2016 he won Big Air at the Ale Invite in Ale and came sixth in Big Air at the X-Games Oslo 2016. At the Snowboard World Championships 2016 in Yabuli , he came 19th in Big Air and the 11th place in slopestyle. The following year he was ninth in Big Air and sixth in Slopestyle at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada .
Mattsson became Swedish champion in the disciplines Big Air (2013, 2014, 2016) and Slopestyle (2016).
