Niko Kytösaho (born December 18, 1999 in Paimio ) is a Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Niko Kytösaho started on February 27 and 28, 2014 for the first time in two competitions in Zakopane in the FIS Cup , where he finished 63rd and 44th. Since then, other starts in the FIS Cup have followed, where he was able to draw attention to himself in September 2017 with a fourth place in Râșnov . On December 12th to 14th, 2014, Kytösaho made his debut in Rena in the Continental Cup , where he finished 34th, 22nd and 16th and thus also got his first Continental Cup points. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Tschagguns , Kytösaho won the gold medal in the individual competition and the silver medal in the team competition together with Andreas Alamommo , Joni Markkanen and Niko Löytäinen .

On February 19, 2016, Kytösaho made his debut in Lahti in the Ski Jumping World Cup and reached 48th place, which markedly missed his first World Cup points. This was his only World Cup start so far.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov, Romania, Kytösaho was 37th in the individual competition and eighth in the team competition together with Aapo Lehtinen , Eetu Nousiainen and Andreas Alamommo. At the 2017 World Junior Ski Championships in Park City , Utah , he finished 36th in the individual competition and was sixth in the team competition with Eetu Nousianien, Kalle Heikkinen and Andreas Alamommo.

Kytösaho won the gold medal at the Finnish Championships 2018 in Lahti on January 17th, 2018 .

At the end of August 2019, Kytösaho won his first points in this competition series at the Grand Prix in Hakuba . About a month later he won the Finnish Summer Championships in Kuopio ahead of Antti Aalto and Eetu Nousiainen . He confirmed this performance on the following weekend in the Continental Cup , when he finished seventh in tough competition in Klingenthal , thus achieving his best placement in the Continental Cup to date.

His father Pasi Kytösaho was also a ski jumper.

Niko Kytösahos currently lives in Lahti . His idol is Janne Ahonen .
