Career

Andreas Alamommo competed in two FIS Cup competitions for the first time on August 1 and 2, 2013 in Kuopio and was disqualified on the first day of the competition and finished 41st in the second competition. After further starts in the FIS Cup, Alamommo made his debut a year later on August 16 and 17, 2014 at the same place in the Continental Cup and finished 36th and 32nd, which meant he missed his first Continental Cup points on his debut. He then picked it up on December 14th, 2014 at the COC jumping competition in Rena , when he finished 28th. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Tschagguns , Alamommo finished sixth in the individual competition and won the silver medal in the team competition together with Niko Löytäinen , Joni Markkanen and Niko Kytösaho . One month later, Alamommo took 31st place in the individual competition at the 2015 Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty and reached eighth place in the team competition together with Antti Aalto , Eetu Nousiainen and Juho Ojala .

In the following season he mainly competed in the FIS and Continental Cup. At the beginning of January 2016 Alamommo was about to make his debut in the World Cup as part of the Four Hills Tournament 2015/16 in Bischofshofen , but was the last to clearly not qualify for the competition. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , Alamommo finished sixth in the individual competition. At the Junior World Ski Championships 2016 in Râșnov , Romania, Alamommo reached 25th place in the individual competition; in the team competition he took eighth place together with Niko Kytösaho, Eetu Nousiainen and Aapo Lehtinen .

On August 6, 2016, he made his debut in the Grand Prix in Einsiedeln, Switzerland , in which Alamommo took 36th place. In February 2017, he reached twelfth place in the individual competition at the Junior World Ski Championships in Park City , Utah . In the team competition he took sixth place together with Niko Kytösaho, Eetu Nousiainen and Kalle Heikkinen .

In September 2017, with an eleventh place in Tchaikovsky , he achieved a point ranking for the first time and his best result so far in the Summer Grand Prix . For the 2017/18 World Cup season , Alamommo was part of the Finnish senior squad. On November 18, 2017, he made his debut in the World Cup at the team competition in Wisła . With eleventh place, the Finnish team clearly missed the final - also because of Alamommo's disqualification due to an illegal suit. The following day he started for the first time in an individual competition in the World Cup. In 46th place, however, he also missed the second round. At the 2018 Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg , he finished seventh in the individual, which was his best individual result at the Junior World Championships. As a year before, he finished sixth with the team. Alamommo took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and started in all three competitions. In the two individual competitions he survived the qualification, but missed the finals twice as 38th on the normal hill and 34th on the large hill . In the team competition on the large hill , he took eighth place together with Janne Ahonen , Jarkko Määttä and Antti Aalto .

On February 10, 2019, he reached the second round of the World Cup competition in Lahti for the first time and thus scored his first World Cup points in 29th place. At the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tyrol , he finished 31st on the normal hill, after narrowly missing the competition on the large hill in 51st of the qualification. With the Finnish men's team, he finished tenth in the team competition.
