Nikolaus Fasolt

Nikolaus Fasolt (born July 21, 1921 in Berlin ; † August 29, 2014 in Ruhpolding ) was a German entrepreneur and from January to September 1978 President of the Federation of German Industries .

Fasolt was appointed to succeed Hanns Martin Schleyer , who was murdered by the RAF . After six months in office, he had to resign because of a tax affair.

Life

Nicholas Fasolt was the son of from Thuringia originating captain Victor Fasolt and Sophia Dimitrievna (Onya) Nabokov, who from the Ukraine originating sister of the composer Nicolas Nabokov and cousin of Lolita -Autors Vladimir Nabokov . Nikolaus Fasolt grew up in Berlin.

After attending school at the French Gymnasium in Berlin , the 17-year-old joined the  98 Mountain Infantry Regiment ( Mittenwald ) as a flag junior and was a soldier and officer until 1945 . In the same year he married Vera Althoff, b. Wessel (born April 19, 1913 in Bonn , † August 21, 2010 in Rumgraben ), whom he met in a military hospital in Adelholzen , where he came to treat a war wound . From the marriage the son Constantin and the daughter Natalie emerged.

From 1946 to 1950 studied Fasolt at the University of Bonn Romance , English Studies , Slavic Studies and Economics and received his doctorate in 1950 under Professor Setschkareff with a literary criticism of works Alexander Blok . He was the first to have a doctorate in Slavic studies at the University of Bonn.
