description

The Filialkirche is a small, 11.1 m long and 5.4 m wide hall church made of field stones and rubble stones that come from local quarries . It was built in 1650 using parts of the outer walls of the previous church from the 12th century. The cuboid corner stones are made of sandstone , which occurs near Steinheid . The nave is covered with a slated gable roof. The beams of the roof structure are made of fir wood . From dendrochronological investigations show that they were taken from 1555 to 1652. The roof turret for holding the bells from 1598 and 1797 was added later. The tower clock was added in 1793. The interior is covered with a flat ceiling. There are single-storey galleries in the north and west . The pulpit on the south wall from the 17th century has drilled fields on the parapets . The winged altar has carved statuettes from the years 1516/17. They are attributed to Hans Gottwalt von Lohr from Saalfeld, who was restored in 1964. In the center is Nikolaus , flanked by Wolfgang and Bonifatius , in the wings there is a portrait of Mary and a painting about Anna Selbdritt . When closed, the Annunciation of Mary can be seen. In the predella that's Veil of Veronica to see. The organ with 4 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built around 1850 by an unknown organ builder . In 1820 and 1964 the church was renovated.
