Nipane
The first mountains in Nipane on the side of Oe-Cusse Ambeno on the border with Indonesia in the dry season.  They are of volcanic origin.
The Suco Nipane is in the northeast of the administrative office Panta Macassar.  The place Nipane is located in the south of the Sucos.

Nipane ( Nipani ) is an East Timorese town in Suco Nipane ( Pante Macassar administrative office , Oe-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region ).

The place

Nipane is located in the south of the Sucos on the border with Indonesia at an altitude of 434  m . There is a border police post here . During the occupation there were close economic ties with the Indonesian side. Today the place has to supply itself from the exclave via a poorly developed road.

1124 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), 579 of whom are men and 545 women. The population density is 21.3 inhabitants / km². There are 220 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Baikeno as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Mambai , Tetum Prasa or Tetum Terik .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Nipane had an area of ​​57.18 km². Now there are 52.86 km². The Suco forms the northeast of the East Timorese exclave Oe-Cusse Ambeno in West Timor . In the north is the Sawu Sea , to the west and south of the Suco Costa . Nipane borders Indonesia to the east. Most of the larger Sucos towns are on the coastal road. From west to east these are Aosnak , Bausiu , Soin , Oebone , Fatuputi , Sacato ( Sakato ), Fatuke , Mopo and Meobola . The official Sacato / Wini border crossing to Indonesia is located at Meobola at the eastern end of the coastal road . The only primary school in sucos is in Sacato, the Escola Primaria Sacato . A security post was opened here in 2012, which, among other things, is to monitor the movement of goods across the border with Indonesia.

The Inur-Sacato power plant is located in Sacato , the main power plant of Oe-Cusse Ambeno, which has been in operation since November 2015. By 2016 it was to be supplemented by a gas and steam combined cycle power plant in order to also supply the new ZEESM buildings. The $ 37 million power plant has an output of 17.3 kW and is intended to supply the entire community. It was built by the Finnish company Wärtsilä .

In the Suco is also the highest mountain in the administrative office, the Sapu ( Pico do Nipane ), at 1259  m .

The two Aldeias Bausiu and Sacato are located in Nipane .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Cassimiro Ena Colo was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Anselmo Collo .
