Before the 2015 territorial reform, Taiboco had an area of ​​80.28 km². Now there are 81.97 km². The Suco is located in the west of the administrative office Pante Macassar, on the north bank of Timor on the Sawusee . In the east lie the Sucos Lifau , Lalisuc , which also belong to Pante Macassar , and in the southeast Cunha . To the west and south is the administrative office of Nitibe with its sucos Suniufe , Usitaco and Lelaufe . The river Oenuno ( Oenunu ) flows along the border with Taiboco .

At the southern tip of the village of Nuana an overland road begins , which runs close to the southeast border in Taiboco and later ends near Baqui . It connects the overland road from Passabe to Nitibe with the overland road from Passabe to Pante Macassar. The villages Nunputu ( Numputu ), Neopnua , Noahluku , Nemun , Oelkaem ( Oelkaen ), Poasboi ( Poasbot ), Kuatnana , Buinsapi , Upaena ( Upsena ), Kuangkot , Kiubneko , Oeleo , Kuanatui , are located next to it in Suco Taiboco . Baupat , Itnan and Kruaisob ( Kiusisoh ). In the far east a small road branches off from the country road to the places Kiusisoh ( Krusisoh ), Kuanakabun , Nalaen and Ulas .

At Neopnua another small road branches north into the center of Sucos. The villages of Nuheo , Bititim , Kanael , Kuapal , Kuanata , Patoke and Patputu are located on it . The road ends on the coast in Maquelab ( Makelab ). Other places on the coast are Kabana , Bokon , Mabukpele ( Kabukpele ), Fuin and Tuinmolo . The country road from Citrana to Pante Macassar runs through them all . There are primary schools in Itnan, Oelkaem ( Escola Primaria Oelkam ) and Maquelab ( Escola Primaria Maquelab ). There is one medical station each in Oelkam and Maquelab.

The four Aldeia Hauboni , Maquelab , Nemun and Ulas are located in the Suco .

Residents

The Suco has 5124 inhabitants (2015), of which 2567 are men and 2557 women. The population density is 62.5 inhabitants / km². There are 1151 households in the Suco. Almost 99% of the population list Baikeno as their mother tongue. A minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

history

After the independence referendum in East Timor in 1999 , serious unrest broke out in the country occupied by Indonesia . On October 20, 1999, 20 members of the Indonesian army , police and militias Sakunar and Aitarak attacked Maquelab. Around 300 residents fled into the forest, but were beaten by the militia and driven back into the village. Six people were murdered. When INTERFET units arrived in Oe-Cusse Ambeno on the same day , the militias fled to the Indonesian West Timor.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Mateus Naz elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
