The Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Apostles Peter and Paul

On a small tributary of the Sava near Sremska Mitrovica , the Bitva , there was a castle that was located in the historic Hungarian bank of the Mačva. This royal castle was first mentioned in 1336 and formed the core of today's village of Noćaj. Thus, 1336 is seen as the year Noćaj was founded.

The Serbian prince and saint Lazar Hrebeljanović conquered the castle in 1381. In 1386, supporters of the Hungarian Queen Maria near the village captured a small Croatian army . In 1426 the Ceruj battle took place near the village, of which some memorabilia are still preserved.
