Norbert Beilharz

Norbert Beilharz (born August 27, 1939 in Haifa ; † April 21, 2019 in Stuttgart ) was a German filmmaker , screenwriter , actor and director .

Life

Beilharz was the son of Swabian Templars who were in Haifa. He grew up in Germany and attended schools in the Calw , Wilhelmsdorf and Stuttgart districts .

Beilharz trained as a bookseller as well as an actor. He was active as an actor and speaker, also for radio plays and poetry .

From 1969, films and journalistic films were made about productions in drama, opera , ballet, as well as literature and music.

Beilharz's specialties were documentaries (including about Giorgio Strehler ), as well as films with actors and musicians. The materials processed by him include u. a. Don Juan , Orpheus , Georg Büchner , García Lorca , Friedrich Hölderlin , Nikolaus Lenau , Christian Wagner .
