Norbert Ulfig
Norbert Ulfig (born January 18, 1959 in Hamm ; † October 6, 2015 in Hamburg ) was a German anatomist.
Life
After graduating from high school, he did basic military service in Hamburg in 1978/79. He then studied medicine and partly dentistry at the University of Münster . Immediately after obtaining his license to practice medicine, he started working as a research assistant for Heiko Braak at the University of Frankfurt . With a doctoral thesis with Peter Lawin , he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. The training in neuroanatomy at Braak ended in 1992. After a four-month research stay with Edward G. Jones at the University of California, Davis went Ulfig at the University of Rostock , he attended the in 1994 for anatomy habilitated . He was appointed private lecturer and received the Venia legendi for anatomy.
The University of Rostock appointed him on October 1, 1995 as a C3 professor and deputy director of the institute. In 2004 he was Teacher of the Year in the field of preclinical . He was visiting professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1999–2000) and the Open University in Milton Keynes (2006). He founded the publisher hanseatic publisher .
Ulfig was an extra at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. For years he took acting classes and speaking training. From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the Rostock citizenship for the Free Democratic Party . Retired in 2014 for health reasons, he enrolled at the University of Hamburg for German and English studies in the 2014/15 winter semester . He died at the age of 56.
