Together with the MEP from the Danish Socialist People's Party (SF), who joined the group at the same time (she was previously in the Green group), they formed the Nordic Green Left within the group. This was now (on January 6, 2005) the Confederal Group of the United European Left / Nordic Green Left (VEL / NGL).
The SF switched back to the Greens in 2004 . The also Danish standard list - The Red-Greens has been represented in the VEL / NGL since 2019.
Nordic Green-Left Alliance
The NGLA was founded on February 1, 2004 in Reykjavík by five parties. In 2009 two other parties from Greenland and the Faroe Islands joined the NGLA.
In terms of program, the NGLA agreed on a political platform that focuses on both ecological and social issues. The highest body is the annual general meeting. In between, decisions are made by a council of seven party leaders. The member parties take turns in the chairmanship every year.
The NGLA was a firm alliance of parties at European level, but not a recognized European party . The NGLA website was last accessible in February 2016.
