Nordic World Ski Championships 1941 / Men's ski jumping
At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1941 in Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Italian province of Belluno , a ski jumping competition was held on the large hill (K-70).
The ski jumping on the Trampolino Italia took place on Sunday, February 9th, 1941. 40 of the 47 registered ski jumpers, 14 Italians and 11 Germans, took part in the competition.
Due to the lack of Norwegians (of whom only Randmod Sörensen competed ), the way was clear for the Finns and Swedes. The victory won Paavo Vierto ahead of compatriot Leo Laakso and the Swede Sven Selånger . As the best Central European , the German Heini Klopfer came in fourth (despite the greatest jump distance), followed by defending champion Sepp Bradl in fifth.
The Swiss roster included a. Ludwig Demarmels , who later made a name for himself as a painter, and Pius Russi , the father of the later Alpine Olympic champion and world champion Bernhard Russi .

In 25th place went to Kjellberg , who was often referred to as Italian despite his Norwegian name . Peder Kjelberg was Norwegian. He did travel to Italy around 1930, and worked in Italy as a ski trainer for a long time. (Please excuse my bad German.)
