Nordisk Film Award

The Nordisk Film Prize ( Danish Nordisk Film Prisen ) is a Danish film prize that was launched in 1996 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the company Nordisk Film (founded on November 6, 1906). Until 2008, the prize was awarded annually on November 6th. Since 2010, the awards have taken place as part of the international Copenhagen film festival CPH: PIX ; Since 2017, the Nordisk Film Prize has been awarded together with two other prizes from Nordisk Film, the Erik Balling Travel Grant and the Ove Sprogøe Prize , at the joint Isbjørnen (polar bears) festival in Valby at the beginning of November .

Awards are given to people who have distinguished themselves in the respective year through special achievements and services in Danish film or television. The annual award of the prize is combined with prize money donated by the Nordisk Film Fonden amounting to 1000 Danish kroner (DKR) times the age of Nordisk Film. In 2010 the premium was DKR 104,000. To mark the 100th anniversary of Nordisk Film in 2006, an honorary award was also given. Since 2010, young talents from Danish film and television have been the focus of the award ceremony.

Award winners

In 2006, the director Malmros Nils received an additional honorary award on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Nordisk Film .

Since 2010 the award has been given to new talents with exceptional achievements in the Danish media landscape.
