Now, Diabolical is the sixth album by the Norwegian metal band Satyricon .
Emergence
The album was mixed by Mike Frazier . The band wanted to record "really good and powerful songs".
style
The album is musically based on simple rock with melodic riffs and lots of hooklines . The drumming , which is atypical for the genre, does not consist of blast beats . It is kept technically very simple, but still strongly accentuated. The singing is guttural but easy to hear.
reception
Now, Diabolical got mixed reactions. For example, while the website chroniclesofchaos.com compares the first riff with that of a "third-rate Metallica band", another reviewer believes that the only disadvantage of the album is its brevity.
The album reached number 2 in the Norwegian charts, and it was also represented in the Finnish and Swedish charts.
