Nyborg is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County , in the historical province (landskap) Norrbotten .

Nyborg belongs to the municipality of Kalix and within this, since January 1, 2016, to the district of Nederkalix, named after the parish (socken), which has had this name since 1644. It is about 50 km as the crow flies northeast of the provincial capital Luleå and 7 km south of the center of Kalix . The place is located at the mouth of the river Kalixälven in the Bothnian the Baltic Sea , on the right bank opposite Risögrund and Karl Borg ; offshore is the island of Båtön. There are several small fishing and yacht harbors on the river .

The secondary provincial road BD 705 runs past the town to the west and branches off from Europastraße 4 ( Europaväg 4 ) in Rolfs near Kalix and continues in a south-westerly direction to Storön .

Until 1975, what is now (2015) the fourth largest village in the municipality with over 800 inhabitants was run under the name Ytterbyn ; this is the name of the northwestern district. The name Nyborg goes back to a sawmill that has now been closed .
