Rettingen is a district of the municipality of Tapfheim and a district in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .

The village is about 2 km southeast of Tapfheim south of the Danube .

In the district, the village Rettingen, the hamlet Birkschwaige lie (formerly Bürg ) and the deserts Bäldleschwaige (formerly Böldleschwaige ), Bauer Hans Schwaige (formerly Upper Helbern , Oberhöllberg ) Three angle Schwaige (formerly Trowinkelschwaige ) Hubelschwaige, dogs Schwaige, Kilischwaige (formerly sub Helbern , Unterhöllberg ) Obere Hoserschwaige (formerly Oberer Aschachhof ), Untere Hoserschwaige (formerly Unterer Aschachhof ) and Rothhahnenschwaige (also Denschnachbühl , formerly Kaltenekk ). The independent municipality of Zusum-Rettingen in the Donauwörth district was dissolved on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria and reclassified to the newly formed Donau-Ries district . Almost all parts of the municipality (Bauernhansenschwaige, Birkschwaige, Böldleschwaige , Dreiwinkelschwaige, Hubelschwaige, Hundeschwaige, Kilischwaige, Upper Hoserschwaige, Rettingen, Rothhahnenschwaige and Lower Hoserschwaige) were incorporated into the municipality of Tapfheim, only Zusum and Quellhaus came to the city of Donauwörth .

Rettingen belongs to the Catholic parish of the Assumption of Mary in Donaumünster , as well as Bäldleschwaige, Birkschwaige, Dreiwinkelschwaige, Hubelschwaige, Hundeschwaige and Kilischwaige. Bauernhansenschwaige, Obere and Untere Hoserschwaige and Rothahnenschwaige belong to the St. Vitus branch church in Erlingshofen and thus also to Donaumünster.
