Oberkleinich , official spelling until May 15, 1936: Obercleinich, is a district of the local community Kleinich in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Geographical location

Oberkleinich is located in the middle of the Hunsrück, two kilometers from the main town of Kleinich. The nearest basic and medium-sized centers are Büchenbeuren , Sohren , Traben-Trarbach , Morbach , Bernkastel-Kues and Simmern . The Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is 10 kilometers from the village.

Until 1974 Oberkleinich was an independent municipality . As part of the administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate that began in the mid-1960s, today's local community of Kleinich was re-established on March 17, 1974 from Oberkleinich and six other communities . In 1974 Oberkleinich had a total of 122 inhabitants.
