history

View from Thalkleinich (foreground) of the Kleinich parish church (around 1913)

Presumably there was a farm in Thalkleinich as early as Roman times. The present village is first mentioned in 1390 as " in the dale zu Kleinche ", in 1399 as " ym dale zu Cleyniche " and in 1421 as " Cleynche ymme dale ". In 1790 the settlement was called " Kleinicher Tal ". The name “ Thalkleinich ” probably only came into use after 1800. The village was settled from Kleinich at the time when the High Court did not yet exist as a delimited legal district.

Thalkleinich had a close relationship with Irmenach and Beuren for centuries . These three places formed a unit, the so-called "Großgemeinde Irmenach", which was not finally dissolved until 1828.

During the Weimar Republic , the agricultural community Thalkleinich belonged to the lowest local class D, the community council had six seats.

On May 15, 1936 the place name was changed from Thal-Cleinich to Thalkleinich, the place belonged to the district of Zell (Mosel) . When it was incorporated into the existing community of Kleinich on June 7, 1969, responsibility changed to the Verbandsgemeinde Bernkastel-Kues in the newly established district of Bernkastel-Kues. Due to the reclassification, the place changed at the same time from the administrative district of Koblenz to the administrative district of Trier .

The SWR series Hierzuland filmed the third episode in Thalkleinich, after Fronhofen (October 2009) and the Kleinicher Ortsstraße (November 2013) about part of the municipality of Kleinich, and it was broadcast on September 9, 2016.

Jurisdiction

After the establishment of the Département de Rhin-et-Moselle in 1798, Thalkleinich belonged to the Justice de paix (from 1821 peace court) Trarbach , in 1879 the district court Trarbach (from 1904 Traben-Trarbach) was established. In June 1923, Thalkleinich came to the Kirchberg district court, which was dissolved in 1967 and became part of the Simmern / Hunsrück district court . On April 1, 1971, the place was added to the district court of Bernkastel-Kues ( LG Trier , OLG Koblenz ). The reorganization of the judicial districts in 1971 was the subject of a decision by the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) on November 12, 1979; the reclassification of Thalkleinich was relevant to the decision.

religion

The place used to be evangelical because of the Protestant Count von Sponheim, in 2008 65.9 percent of the population were evangelical.

coat of arms

Due to the fact that the place belonged to the district of Zell before the communal territorial reform in 1969, Thalkleinich is the only Kleinicher local district that does not have an official coat of arms . The coat of arms on the left has been used on the community flag as well as on the Kleinich primary school website and in the community chronicle since 2000.

Coat of arms Thalkleinich.svg
Blazon : "Above a green shield base, inside a silver water mill, three rows of silver and red."
Justification of the coat of arms: The checkerboard pattern in the upper part indicates that it belongs to the Hinteren Grafschaft Sponheim . The lower part shows a mill on the Kleinicher Bach, the green color refers to agriculture .

Cultural monuments

Listed town center of Thalkleinich with the protected numbers 8, 16 and 18 and the village square in the center of the village (2016)

The Thalkleinich town center forms a so-called monument zone because of its unusual density of historical courtyards, most of which date from the 19th century . In addition to this joint protection of seven plants, the buildings with house numbers 8, 9, 16, 18 and 20 are also protected as individual structures, as is the bakery .
