politics

Fronhofen community

Until 1974 "Fronhofen bei Bernkastel-Kues" was an independent municipality . As part of the administrative reform begun in Rhineland-Palatinate in the mid-1960s, today's local community of Kleinich was re-established on March 17, 1974 from Fronhofen and six other communities . In 1974 Fronhofen had a total of 144 inhabitants.

Former coat of arms

Coat of arms of Fronhofen
Blazon : "In green a golden wolf's tang accompanied by silver antlers."
Reasons for the coat of arms: The green color of the coat of arms indicates agriculture with meadows and forests, the antler pole indicates game. The double hook ( wolf tang ) symbolizes forestry. The crossbar gives the hook a resemblance to the letter F, the first letter of the place name.
