Rasul Katinovasov

Rasul Katinovasov ( Russian Расул Абдусаламович Катиновасов , Rassul Abdussalamowitsch Katinowassow; born April 22, 1969 ) is a former Soviet , Russian or Uzbek wrestler .

Career

Rasul Katinovasov, like many former world-class wrestlers, comes from the Russian Caucasus region. He started wrestling in 1981 with his twin brother Saygid Katinovasov , focusing on free style. As an adult, he mostly started in the middleweight class. Until 1997 it started for the Soviet Union and for Russia , from 1998 for Uzbekistan . There he was a member of Dynamo Tashkent and was trained by Mamur Rusiev.

He made his debut on the international wrestling mat at the Senior World Championships in Varna in 1991 , at that time still starting for the USSR . He finished in the middleweight division behind Kevin Jackson from the United States, Jozef Lohyňa from Czechoslovakia and Sebahattin Öztürk a good 4th place and thus narrowly missed a medal.

Since the competition was very tough in the weight class of Rasul Katinovasov in Russia, he only came back to an international championship in 1995.
