The Obra is a 164 km long left tributary of the Warta in the Polish Voivodeship of Greater Poland . It rises south of Jarocin ( Jarotschin ) and flows into the Warta at Skwierzyna ( Schwerin an der Warthe ). There is a connection to the upper reaches of the Warta via the 25.7 kilometer long Moschiner Canal , which branches off at the city of Mosina ( Moschin ).

The Obra, the Faule Obra east of the Bentschen chain of lakes, the Obra Obra near the village of Kontopp , the Obra Canal in the Obra Bruch and the Moschiner Canal west and southwest of the city of Posen on a map of the province of Posen from 1905 (areas marked in yellow mark areas with a predominantly Polish- speaking population at the time ).

The towns of Krzywiń ( Kriewen ), Kościan ( Kosten ), Zbąszyń ( Bentschen ), Trzciel ( Tirschtiegel ), Międzyrzecz ( Meseritz ) and Skwierzyna ( Schwerin ) are located on the Obra .

In the period between the two world wars, the German-Polish border roughly followed the chain of lakes in the middle reaches.
