history

Konstantin Simonov

The ship with the hull number B 492/03 was launched on April 17, 1981 at the Polish shipyard Stocnia Szczecinska in Adolfa Warskiego in Stettin . It belongs to the series of seven ships of the Dmitriy Shostakovich class manufactured from 1980 to 1986 .

The ship was named after the writer Konstantin Simonow . After the Konstantin Simonov was delivered in April 1982, the crew from the Far East came on board and began her maiden voyage from Riga to Cuba . On the way back, the ferry was directed to Odessa , where it remained according to the order of the Ministry of Naval Fleet of the USSR on August 10, 1982. The ship was operated as a cruise ship for Soviet and foreign tourists on the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and for "trips around Europe" on the Baltic Sea. After the sinking of Mikhail Lermontov of the Leningrad Baltic Sea shipping company, it had replacement needs, so on January 9, 1987 the Konstantin Simonov was handed over to the Baltic Sea shipping company.

1987–1988 the ship was modernized at the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven and used on the Leningrad - Helsinki - Saint Petersburg route. Under the leadership of the new Russian capitalists (Russian: "новые русские"), the Baltic shipping company went bankrupt, and in May 1996 the ship was locked up in Kiel to cover liabilities to the Cypriot Pakartin Shipping Co. Ltd. sold and given the name Francesca . From 2000, the ship under the Maltese flag was sailing the Mediterranean Sea as The Iris for the Israeli Mano Cruise .

Kristina Katarina

On December 11, 2009, the Finnish company Kristina Cruises bought the 1A ice-reinforced ship to replace their Kristina Regina , built in 1960 . Since February 24, 2010 the home port of the ship is Kotka , and the Kristina Katarina was from the Almaco Group in Kotka and Naantali

modernized, with all 193 cabins, stairwells, conference hall, restaurant etc. being refurbished.

From August 31, 2010 the first cruise to the Mediterranean took place. On October 5th, 2010 the Kristina Katarina visited her former home port of Odessa . In May 2012 it was first used in the Mediterranean, later in the Baltic Sea region as well as the Norwegian fjords and Svalbard.

Ocean Endeavor

On January 8, 2014, the ship was sold to international investors and renamed Ocean Endeavor .
