The Skagerrak Arena is a football stadium in the Norwegian city ​​of Skien . The football club Odds BK plays its home games here. The town and municipality of Skien is located in the southern province of Telemark . The stadium is in the Falkum district, which is also the nickname of the venue. Until the renovation, the sports facility was called Odd Stadium .

history

The facility was opened in 1923 and from 2006 to 2008 it was renovated and expanded. To finance part of the project, the naming rights were sold to the energy company Skagerak Energi , which has been the association's main sponsor since 1995. This sponsorship contract runs until at least 2017.

The Skagerrak Arena has 11,767 seats. It is the only stadium in Norway where waste separation is carried out. In the old Odd Stadium there were around 8,600 spectators. The facility now consists of three new, two-story tiers and the old main grandstand. During the renovation, the playing field was turned by 90 ° , so that the old main grandstand became a back-end grandstand in the north. The sports facility has an artificial turf play area .
