Ogongo is a settlement and administrative seat of the constituency of the same name in the administrative region of Omusati in northeastern Namibia . The district borders in the north on the district Okalongo in the east on the Namibian region Oshana . Ogongo is about 60 kilometers southeast of Outapi .
The University of Namibia campus of the same name is located in Ogongo . Here, Agriculture and Natural Resources taught.
During the civil war in Angola, the city was the stationing site of the South African Army (SADF) and later the UNTAG (blue helmet soldiers of the United Nations ).
