The Oland is a survey ship of the State Office for Coastal Protection, National Park and Marine Protection Schleswig-Holstein (LKN.SH). It entered service in 2016 and is based in Husum .

General

The Oland was launched as a replacement for its predecessor of the same name on July 7, 2015 at SET Schiffbau- u. Development company Tangermünde commissioned. As hull number 195 was on the ship on 22 October 2015 laid Kiel , was launched on June 1, 2016 from the pile and could be delivered on 8 July 2016, the principal. The construction costs of 3.8 million euros were financed from state funds. The official commissioning took place on July 15, 2016 in the port of Husum. The ship is named after Oland , a Hallig in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park .

The tasks of the Oland comprises the laying of measuring instruments, the maintenance of levels and the water measurement in the mud flat. In addition, the ship can also be used as a tug for barges and for biological monitoring .

In 2020, the ship collided with a groyne during a measurement trip off Sylt , causing a leak. In order not to sink, the captain set it aground off Westerland .

Furnishing

The Oland , 22.50 meters long and 6.90 meters wide, has a draft of just 95 centimeters. It has a flat hull and can easily fall dry in the mudflats . The ship of two driven Volvo Penta - diesel engines , the two fixed-pitch propellers act. With a drive power of 442  kW , a speed of ten knots is achieved.

A ship crane with 1.5 t  WLL is installed on the fore and aft . The facilities for the three to four crew members also allow work lasting several days.
