During his youth, Ole Tobiasen played for Amager at Boldklubben 1908 and Fremad Amager, as well as at Kjøbenhavns Boldklub , one of the oldest football clubs in continental Europe. In 1992 Tobiasen received a professional contract with FC Copenhagen , which had previously resulted from a merger between Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben in 1903 . In three and a half years at the capital club Tobiasen played 46 games, where he was one of the regular players in the 3-5-2 system as a central defender under coach Benny Johansen .

Later he moved to the Netherlands in the Eredivisie for SC Heerenveen , where he met his compatriot Jon Dahl Tomasson . Initially, Ole Tobiasen was supposed to move to Heerenveen for free in the summer of 1996 , but after a dispute with Karsten Aabrink, the director of FC Copenhagen, who was not informed of the change, SC Heerenveen transferred a sum of 500,000 kroner in order to obtain an immediate change . In Heerenveen Tobiasen was used as a right defender and in a year and a half he played 34 games. His talent was not hidden from Ajax Amsterdam , the record champions and one of the largest clubs in the Netherlands, and so the Ajacieds piloted him to the capital for a transfer fee of 7.5 million crowns. In his first year, Ole Tobiasen won the Dutch championship with Ajax Amsterdam, but due to his knee problems, he only made 24 appearances for the Amsterdam team. In the summer of 2002 he went to AZ Alkmaar , around 40 kilometers from Tobiasen's former club.

Half a year later he returned to his home country to his former club FC Copenhagen. In Copenhagen, Ole Tobiasen was a regular player, provided he was free of injury, and won the Danish championship in both 2003 and 2004. In 2005 it was awarded to Aalborg BK . Half a year later Tobiasen went abroad again, this time to the Norwegian first division promoted Sandefjord Fotball . With the club from the southeast of Norway, he managed to stay up. After the end of his time in Sandefjord, he returned to the Netherlands and joined the second division club MVV Maastricht . He cited his wife's Dutch origins and the will to settle in the country after his career as the reason for the change. In September 2009, Ole Tobiasen was banned from the team after a dispute with his coach and did not return to the team after the coach's dismissal. In the new season Tobiasen was the youth coach at Roda Kerkrade and also played for the amateur club EHC Hoensbroek .
