The Seaway Strashnov is a crane ship built in 2011 as Oleg Strashnov .

history

The ship was built under the hull number 7716 at the Dutch shipyard IHC Merwede in Krimpen . The keel was laid on April 3, 2008, the launch on August 22, 2009. The ship was completed on March 31, 2011. The design of the ship came from the Dutch company GustoMSC. The construction costs for the ship were estimated at 460 million US dollars. The cost ended up being around $ 500 million.

The ship, built as Oleg Strashnov , was renamed Seaway Strashnov in early 2019 .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by diesel-electric technology . Propulsion for the two driven by electric motors are azimuth thruster each with 5,500  kW power available, in the rear area are the ship. There are also two propeller pods arranged amidships, each with an output of 3,500 kW, and two transverse thruster systems , each with 1,145 kW, in the bow area of the ship. The ship thus has a system for dynamic positioning (DP3). The ship can also be anchored using a total of eight anchors. The anchors are each raised or lowered using a winch with 2200 m of wire.

Six diesel generator sets from the manufacturer Wärtsilä (type: 9L32) each with an output of 4,500 kW ( apparent power : 5,400  kVA ) are available for power generation. In addition, an emergency generator with an output of 1,200 kW was installed.

The deck superstructures are located in the front area of ​​the ship. Above the deckhouse there is a helicopter landing pad suitable for the use of Sikorsky S-61 N and Sikorsky S-92 helicopters. In the rear there is a crane that can lift 5,000 t. The crane has two additional hoists that can lift 800 and 200 t respectively. The crane can work at a height of around 100 m. The additional hoists reach around 110 m (200 t crane) or 130 m (800 t crane).

The open deck area between the superstructure and the crane is 3,950 m². It can be loaded with up to 10 t / m² and a total of 8,500 t.

The hull of the ship is widened to 47 m in the upper area. In crane operation, the ship can increase its draft, which is 8.5 m , with the help of ballast water up to 13.5 m, so that this area is submerged in the water and thus provides more stability. With this construction, the underwater hull could be kept relatively narrow with a maximum of 37.8 m, which means that the ship can achieve a higher speed.

The ship can also be equipped as a pipelayer (S-Lay method). The infrastructure required for welding pipes together in the form of a "firing line" is located below the open working deck.

There is space on board for a maximum of 395 people, who can be accommodated in 121 cabins. 22 of the cabins are single cabins, 99 are double cabins, which are prepared for occupancy by up to four people.
