The Olfe , also known as Ölfe , is an 11.6 km long orographic northwest and orographic left tributary of the Nuhne in the Hochsauerlandkreis and the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse ( Germany ).

course

The Olfe rises in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Rothaargebirge west-northwest of Hesborn (district of Hallenberg). Its source is on the south-southeast flank of the Bollerberg ( 757.7  m above sea  level ) at an altitude of about 575  m .

Initially the Olfe flows through Hesborn and takes in the valley water stream in the village . The Dormecke (also called Diek ) and the Mahlbach flow below this . Then it runs through Dreislar (district of Medebach), where the Oswinkel flows into it and after which the Unkenbach flows into it. The Olfe then flows through Neukirchen (district of Lichtenfels) in Hessen , after which the Lohgraben flows towards it.

About 1.5 km below Neukirchen , the Olfe flows from the north-west into the Eder tributary Nuhne at an altitude of around 315  m .
