Oliver "Ollie" Wood (born November 26, 1995 in Wakefield ) is a British cyclist.
Athletic career
Oliver Wood followed his father's example and started cycling. In 2011 he was accepted into the British Cycling's Olympic Development Program and in 2013 the British Cycling Olympic Academy . In the same year he made his debut in the Track Cycling World Cup . In 2014 he won the silver medal in scratch at the U23 European Track Championships . In the same year he set a new 1000-meter world record in two-man team driving with Ed Clancy in a race in the Revolution series with 54.537 seconds , a record previously held by Chris Hoy and Arnaud Tournant .
In 2015 Wood became the European Under23 team pursuit champion, along with Germain Burton , Matthew Gibson and Christopher Latham ; in the Omnium he was runner-up in Europe. The following year he won the first run of the Track Cycling World Cup in Glasgow in the team pursuit together with Mark Stewart , Kian Emadi , Andrew Tennant and Matthew Bostock ; the British foursome won bronze with Wood at the European Elite Championships.
