The Czechoslovakia took part in the VIII. Winter Olympics in 1960 in the US Squaw Valley Ski Resort with a delegation of 21 athletes in four disciplines in part, of which 20 men and one woman. The only medal won the figure skater Karol Divín with the silver medal.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the ice hockey player Ján Starší .
