A total of four runs took place in the men's two-man bobsleigh at the 2014 Winter Olympics . The first two races were held on February 16. The third and fourth runs took place a day later. The venue for the competition was the Sanki Sliding Center .

The Russians Alexander Subkow and Alexei Wojewoda , who finished first with the best time, were subsequently stripped of the gold medal because of doping. Subkow was given a life ban on November 24, 2017 by the IOC and also revoked his gold medal in the four-man bobsleigh . On December 18, the IOC also suspended Wojewoda for life. The second Russian bobsleigh of pilot Alexander Kasjanow , who took bronze, was also disqualified on November 29, 2017. This was also due to positive doping tests from Kasyanov.

For this reason, the medals were redistributed. The Swiss Beat Hefti was named the new Olympic champion together with his pusher Alexander Baumann . Silver went to the duo Steven Holcomb and Steven Langton from the United States. Bronze went to the Latvians Oskars Melbārdis and Daumants Dreiškens .
