Omroep MAX is a public service broadcaster ( Nederlandse Publieke Omroep ) in the Netherlands . The station was set up in 2002 by Jan Slagter , he finally recruited enough members to actually broadcast permanently. The radio station started on September 3, 2005 on both television and radio.

The broadcasting association was inspected by politicians in 2004, through the Commissariaat voor de Media , with the mandate to broadcast for people over 50 years of age. The station has become known for making high quality programs focusing on information, culture, development of education, the integration of the elderly in society, the life experience of the more mature and the life experience of the younger and immigrant. The broadcaster was not specifically geared towards the "50-plusers" (people over 50), but MAX's audience came from that group.
