PowNed is a Dutch broadcasting company within the public service broadcasting ( Publieke Omroeporganisatie ) . It is aimed at the new generation of networks. Her first broadcast was the satirical newscast PowNews on NPO 3 , which often uncovered scandals in politics.

PowNed was founded in December 2008 with the help of the GeenStijl weblog . In March 2009 PowNed reached the 50,000 members needed to become part of Publieke Omroep. The recording then took place on November 4, 2009. The first program was broadcast on September 3, 2010. PowNed has the same meaning as owned in gamer language . The backronym stands for Publieke Omroep Weldenkend Nederland En Dergelijke (“Public broadcasting clearly thinking Netherlands and the like”).

The broadcaster is chaired by PowNews presenter Dominique Weesie and the main reporter is Rutger Castricum. Other reporters are Nadia Poeschmann, Shelly Sterk, Jan Roos, Danny Ghosen, Tom Staal, Jan Versteegh and Mark Leene. With 25,000 members (as of 2019) PowNed is one of the smallest member associations of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO).
