Orangetown is a city in southern Rockland County near New York City . The name is derived from Orange County (New York) , which Orangetown used to belong to.

Geographical location

Orangetown lies on the Hudson River and the Hackensack River flows through it. It is bordered to the southwest by New Jersey , to the northwest by Ramapo, to the north by Clarkstown, and to the east by Westchester County .
