The Osturn Alps comprise mountain ranges between the cantons of Uri , Glarus and Graubünden . The highest mountain is the Oberalpstock at 3328 m above sea level. M.
Classification SOIUSA
According to the division of the Alps according to SOIUSA , the region is called the Urner-Glarus Alps . They are sub-section 13.I of the SOIUSA mountain classification.
Neighboring alpine regions are:
- in the west the Urner Alps , separated by the Reuss in the Reuss Valley
- in the north the Schwyz and Urner foothills , bounded by Schächental , Bisistal , Starzlen , Pragelpass , Klöntal and Löntsch
- in the east the Glarus Alps , separated by Linthal , Sandbach and Val Russein near Disentis
- in the southwest the Monte Leone-Sankt Gotthard Alps in the Lepontine Alps , bounded by the Oberalpreuss , the Oberalppass and the Vorderrheintal
