Ottmütz , in Polish Otmice , is a village in Upper Silesia in the municipality of Stubendorf (Izbicko) in the Powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship .
history
In 1850 the place had 222 inhabitants. In 1900 the first school was built in Ottmütz.
In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 120 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 140 for Poland. Ottmütz remained with the German Empire. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Otmice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 Ottmütz came to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
On March 6, 2006 , German was introduced as the second official language in the community of Stubendorf , which Ottmütz belongs to. On May 20, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Ottmütz . In December 2008 bilingual place-name signs were put up.
