The municipality Stubendorf ( Polish Gmina Izbicko ) is a rural municipality in the Powiat Strzelecki of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name with around 1100 inhabitants.
Since 2006 the community has been bilingual (Polish and German).
geography
The municipality is located in the Silesian lowlands, ten kilometers from the voivodship capital Opole (Opole) and borders on Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz) . The region belongs to Upper Silesia .
history
As a result of the Second World War , the entire Upper Silesia came to Poland. A minority survived in the region. According to the Polish census of 2002, 28.39% of the community population belong to the German minority , another 11.49% describe themselves as "Silesians".
The community, formed in 1947, introduced German as an auxiliary language in 2006. Two years later bilingual place names were introduced and in December of that year Polish-German place-name signs were put up in the community. Stubendorf was the fourth municipality with bilingual place-name signs in the Opole Voivodeship.

In the regular new election in October 2018, she was the only candidate to receive 72.3% of the vote.

- Election committee German minority 43.3% of the votes, 8 seats
- Voting community of the village Gąsiorowice and the surrounding area 56.7% of the vote, 7 seats
Note: The proportion of votes held by the German minority is so low compared to the number of seats that in four of the 15 constituencies their candidates were given their seats without an election and therefore without votes due to the lack of opposing candidates.
