Grabow , in Polish Grabów , is a village in Upper Silesia in the municipality of Stubendorf (Izbicko) in the Powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship .

Grabow is located about 19 km from the district town of Strzelce Opolskie (Groß Strehlitz).

history

Grabow had 101 inhabitants in 1855 and 113 in 1861.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 19 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 43 for Poland. Grabow remained with the German Empire. In 1936, the town was in hornbeams renamed . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Grabów and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 Grabow came to the re-founded Powiat Strzelecki .

On March 6, 2006, German was introduced as the second official language in the community of Stubendorf, to which Grabow belongs. On May 20, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Grabow . In December 2008 bilingual place-name signs were put up.
