The Gmina Zawadzkie is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Strzelecki in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole . Its seat is in the eponymous city with about 7300 inhabitants.

The Gmina is located in the east of the Opole Voivodeship and in central Upper Silesia and borders the Silesian Voivodeship in the east .

The administration is headed by a mayor . Since 2018, this has been Mariusz Stachowski, who replaced the long-time incumbent Mieczyslaw Orgacki, who did not run again. The 2018 election led to the following result:
- Mariusz Stachowski (Mariusz Stachowski Election Committee) 58.9% of the vote
- Bartłomiej Kowalczyk (non-party) 36.1% of the vote
- Przemysław Dziembala ( Kukiz'15 ) 5.0% of the vote
Stachowski was elected as the new mayor in the first ballot.
Municipal council
The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected. The 2018 municipal council election led to the following result:
- Election Committee Mariusz Stachowski 47.7% of the vote, 10 seats
- New Zawadzkie Election Committee 22.5% of the vote, 3 seats
- Election committee German minority 18.0% of the votes, 2 seats
- Kukiz'15 10.3% of the vote, no seat
- Remaining 1.5% of the vote, no seat

In Zawadzkie, 19% of the population claimed German nationality and 8% Silesian nationality in the 2002 census.
In the community, the residents campaigned for the introduction of bilingual place names. The citizens' survey took place in June 2016, in which the majority of Kielcza and Żędowice opted for German place names, while the townspeople of Zawadzkies decided against it. The municipal council will decide on the implementation.
