The municipality Colonnowska ( Polish Gmina Kolonowskie ) is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Strzelecki of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 3300 inhabitants
geography
The community is in Upper Silesia . The border of the Silesian Voivodeship is two kilometers away. Its main town is around 30 kilometers east of Opole (Opole) and 65 kilometers northwest of Katowice (Kattowitz) . The Malapane River is one of the waters .
history
From 1945 to 1950 the parish seat was in the village of Staniszcze Wielkie (Groß Stanisch) and the rural parish was called Gmina Staniszcze Wielkie . In 1950 it was relocated to today's capital and the region became part of the Opole Voivodeship. This repeatedly changed its layout. In 1973 Fosowskie (Vossowska) was incorporated. Kolonowskie received city rights and the municipality its current status. In 1975 bis the powiate were dissolved and the municipality came to the Opole Voivodeship until 1998 (1975) . The Powiat Strzelecki was re-established in 1999.
On September 22, 2006, German was introduced as the second official language in the municipality. On November 14, 2008, the places and communities were given official German names. Bilingual place-name signs were put up in January 2011.
A community partnership with Wolfsgraben has existed since 2006 . Colonnowska joined the Lower Austrian Climate Alliance Lower Austria and received a corresponding place-name sign in Polish with the approval of the Polish Foreign Office.

mayor
The administration is headed by a mayor . Since 2006 this has been Norbert Koston from the German Minority Election Committee . The 2018 election led to the following result:
- Janusz Żyłka (independent) 49.9% of the vote
- Norbert Koston ( German Minority Election Committee ) 41.3% of the vote
- Maria Bednorz (independent) 8.8% of the vote
Thus Żyłka missed the absolute majority in the first ballot by only three votes (1093 votes against 1095 for Koston and Bednorz together). In the second ballot, the incumbent Koston managed to prevail with 51.2% of the vote against 48.8% for Żyłka and defend his office.
Municipal council
The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected. The 2018 municipal council election led to the following result:
- Electoral committee our municipality Kolonowskie 45.7% of the vote, 11 seats
- Election committee German minority 37.3% of the votes, 4 seats
- Election committee of residents 16.2% of the vote, no seat
- Remaining 0.8% of the votes, no seat

structure
The town-and-country municipality Colonnowska includes three villages in addition to the city that gives it its name:
- Colonnowska / Kolonowskie with the district Vossowska / Fosowskie
- Carmerau / Spórok
- Klein Stanisch / Staniszcze Małe (1936–1945: Klein Zeidel )
- Groß Stanisch / Staniszcze Wielkie (1936–1945: Groß Zeidel )
Two other localities are the settlements or hamlets Granica and Magda.
traffic
The main town is on the Tarnowskie Góry – Opole railway line , and in the Vossowska / Fosowskie district there is a junction station where the Kielce – Fosowskie railway meets the Opole railway line. In the past, the station was also served by Kleinbahn AG Guttentag – Vosswalde on the Kędzierzyn-Koźle – Kluczbork line.
